She Persisted

“They can shit me up, but they can’t change the truth” – Elizabeth Warren.  Vintage Suffragette postcard

She was warned. She was given an explanation. Nevertheless, She persisted.

Silencing Elizabeth Warren will never work. We don’t silence women who persist. We celebrate them!

  1. In the little bubble that is the Senate, McConnell sees himself as the enforcer. Won’t he be surprised to find Elizabeth Warren will not be silenced? Her Facebook reading of the letter got over 5 million views. Sessions will be watched more closely by the people than any of his predecessors, of that I have no doubt! And, if he hasn’t learned it yet, women tend to be tenacious, patient, more likely to work together toward a goal, not being confused about power trumping (sic) right.

Decades and generations passed before women won the vote. Decades and generations passed before women brought about Prohibition. Decades and generations passed before the recognition of the value of women in the workplace and society got closer to the goal of equality with men, who’ve pretty much mucked the world up.

People like McDonnell forget that women have to work twice as hard to get half the recognition of men in similar circumstances, an injustice that makes them tougher than men, as well as more tenacious, patient, and more likely to work together toward a goal, and not confusing power with achieving recognition of rights!

Never underestimate the power of women!
