Milk, Eggs, and Ammo

American Rounds, a Texas-based company has installed computerized vending machines to sell ammunition in Alabama, Oklahoma, and Texas grocery stores.  Cigarette vending machines were once ubiquitous, found in nearly every restaurant, convenience store, and gas station until 2010 when the FDA banned tobacco vending machines nationwide.

Giving new meaning to the expression guns and butter some grocery stores in the South now have computerized vending machines to sell ammunition to adults with ID.

In a country where gun violence is already widespread, is this really such a great idea?

Imagine it’s a hot summer night.

Another day of your boss chewing you out, collection agencies are on your back and your girlfriend threatens to break up with you. Your nerves are on edge. And damn, you find yourself clear out of cigarettes. The nearest convenience store is closed.

And you can’t even drive to a vending machine to get a pack of cigarettes, since selling cigarettes in vending machines has been illegal since 2010.

But you sure as shootin’ can get some fresh ammo for your gun.

To help you blow off some steam.

What kind of country is this where smoking, deemed dangerous to your health has resulted in cigarettes being outlawed to be sold in vending machines, but ammo is perfectly legal.

Smoking is dangerous to your health, but not bullets?

What’s wrong with this picture?

OMG. I am guessing the machines do not require ID or background checks.

As long as they don’t sell dangerous things like books or contraceptives, then it’s all good.
