Last night I felt what my dog Moe must have felt when he finally came to live with me.
Last night, watching Tim Walz at the Democratic rally in Philadelphia I felt rescued.
Safe.
Normal. Hope. Joy. We’ve been starving for this.
Tim Walz didn’t just rescue a calico cat named Honey or a lab mix named Scout.
He rescued Americans mired in the muck of darkness and fear and anger sown by Donald Trump for years
This joyous, home-spun everyman is the Dad we’ve been craving.
Needing.
The perfect antidote to the cruelty of the Republicans and the chaos of Trump.
A dog dad, a cat dad who could be a vice president for two-legged and four-legged Americans that we can all count on.

It says a lot about someone who cares for dogs and cats…

It certainly does. Trump is one of the few Presidents who does not have a pet of any kind. In fact hes never even been seen petting a dog. Or cuddling with a grandchild for that matter.

Hi Sally, You said it beautifully! I will work hard to see that the joy that has begun will prevail and their fresh message of hope will get through. We’ve seen negativity since Trump came on the national stage. It’s time to say enough already! Best, Ellie

I am so glad you are feeling that way and I am sure it is only amplified by watching the convention. Lets grab these positive feelings while we can.
