A Time Out For Musk

Will Elon Musk’s Time cover result in a TIME Out for Musk?

We all know there is only one president at a time, but more important to our current president only one is worthy of sitting behind the resolute desk on the cover of Time Magazine.

Donald Trump.

And this week’s issue of the magazine features Elon Musk sitting behind his resolute desk in his Oval Office.

This means Elon, you just may have gotten on the bad side of Donald Trump’s delicate ego.

Trump likes to be the only star in his White House productions.

Just ask Steve Bannon.

After his appearance as a cover boy touting his power in February 2017, he was gone from the White House by the end of the year.

Don’t forget frumpy Steve Bannon was Trump’s golden boy. In the first few months of Trump’s first term, Bannon’s fingerprints were everywhere. Characterized as the great disruptor he wanted to clean out the old order in his crusade against political, financial, and cultural elites.

But Bannon’s co-opting attention in the media and being seen as the real power in the White House was too much for Trump and he would soon be banished.

Eight years to the week after Bannon graced the cover of Time getting Trump’s attention and ire, Time published Musk seated in a place of power.

An Early Valentine

Musk is Bannon 2.0.  But wanting to avoid the same fate after the cover was revealed,  Elon quickly made amends with a public declaration of his devotion and love for Donald.

Sensing Trump’s fragile ego might be bruised, Elon sent his pal an early Valentine tweeting out:

“I love @realDonald Trump as much as a straight man can love another man,” reads the post.

Time Out

When asked about the Time Cover Trump feigned ignorance  commenting that he “didn’t even know the magazine was in business,”  (this said by the man who was the magazine’s Person of the Year just 2 months ago)

The fact is Donald has always had a fascination with the magazine.

Trump has long used Time Magazine as a touchstone of cultural importance even going so far as to make a fake mock-up of one cover featuring his image.

The cover of Elon Musk sitting behind the resolute desk in the Oval Office was no accident. It was meant to incite Trump.

And we can be sure it did.

Did Time come to America’s rescue by putting Musk behind that storied desk?

Will this cover be the downfall of Musk?

Will this be the beginning of the end of this bro-mance that is destroying our country?

Only time will tell.
