No protective mask can hide the utter unfitness of Donald Trump. His hateful, incompetent self is unmasked every day.

The release of Bob Woodward’s new book Rage only confirms what most of us already knew.

His handling of the coronavirus is a disaster, as lethal as the virus himself. There has not been a moment of truth during this entire pandemic crisis.

There is no mask to protect us from his barrage of lies and distortions about the pandemic.

His lack of comprehension of facts is on display daily, unintelligent at times, a jumble of incomplete thoughts that are childlike in scope. Witnessing these unhinged moments, poor reasoning peppered with paranoia is unnerving. Facts no longer matter in his alternative reality.

Now Trump is dismissive of the CDC director who cites the urgency and effectiveness of wearing masks in combatting the virus.

Trump has treated the pandemic crises merely as a way to feed the tribal hatreds. In his quest to cause further division in our country he is now blaming blue states for the COVID 19 death tolls. This despite the fact the most recent deaths are in Red states.

The coronavirus is color blind, Mr. Trump.

There is no red or blue. In the great American tradition, the virus is an equal opportunist. It doesn’t care if you are rich or poor. Black or white,  red or blue. We are all vulnerable Americans as far as COVID 19 is concerned.

Yet his supporter’s herd mentality cling desperately to his words. For them, the wearing of a life-saving mask is more unbearable than the risk getting COVID 19.

Those opposing masks assemble, crying that their civil liberties are under assault (and what better way to put a point on that assault than by toting an assault weapon.)  Foregoing face masks,  they are putting their own lives and those of others at high risk, while decrying their right to mix and mingle in a crowd as they please.

Anti masks protesters recently invaded a South Florida Target store chanting “Take off Your Masks.” A video of them marching through the aisles shouting “We’re not gonna take it anymore!” appropriately enough, went viral.

Trump is a clear and present danger to the USA.

The virus that has crippled our country is not only COVID 19 that is killing our citizens in record numbers but from the toxin that occupies our  White House.

It can’t be repeated enough. Donald  Trump is a disaster, as lethal as the virus, and his dangerous lies spread as fast. We crave leadership. We crave and need truth. They are as essential to our survival as a  COVID 19 vaccine.
