Here we are again.
Yawn.
Another school shooting.
Another day in America.
Yawn.
Let’s go back to sleep
It has become so commonplace that this latest tragic shooting at Apalechee High School in Georgia wasn’t even the lead story on several news shows.
4 deaths and 9 injured are no longer breaking news.
There is no waking up from this national nightmare we are in.
Prayers don’t wake us up.
Thoughts don’t wake us up.
Our government is fast asleep. What will it take to rouse them, to wake them from their slumber?
I echo Vice President Kamal Harris when she says “It doesn’t have to be this way.”
It really doesn’t.
It never should have been.

How right you are.

Back when I used to still react to school shootings by writing blogposts, I once suggested that people voting a republican ticket were complicit in the shootings. Wow, did I get some pissed off push back. But still, one party resists (refuses) gun control and sensible gun laws. Yes, it’s a political problem but it’s also the will of the people, half of them.
