Liz Cheney brought a lump to my throat. And I know I am not alone.

Stumping for Vice President Kamala Harris in Ripon, Wisconsin the historic birthplace of the modern  Republican Party,  the former GOP Representative called for voters to prioritize the survival of democratic values over party loyalty, a contrast that stands in stark contrast to Donald Trump’s self-serving style of politics.

“Today I ask all of you here and everyone listening across this great country to join us. I ask you to meet this moment. I ask you to stand in truth, to reject the depraved cruelty of Donald Trump. I ask you instead to help us elect Kamala Harris for president.”

This is what real patriotism looks like.

Sounds like.

Feels like.

It gave me chills.

This was an extraordinary moment in extraordinary times calling for true courage.
