Trumps Sick War Against Women Reporters

Donald Trump has often boasted, “No one respects women more than me.”

Says the convicted sex felon who has been on a tear calling female journalists stupid, ugly, terrible, obnoxious, incompetent, and piggy.

There has also been appalling dead silence from the press corps.

Until now.

Nicole Wallace of MS NOW (formerly MSNBC) tore into Trump, “This is sick Shit !” she said of the attacks.

The veteran anchor finally had enough after Trump insulted ABC News’ Rachel Scott to her face, which was at least the sixth such incident in a month.

Wallace hammered Trump for his appalling behavior and went in on the rest of the media for meekly standing by and allowing him to bully their fellow reporter.

“He called ABC’s Rachel Scott today, quote, obnoxious and terrible.”

“December 6th, he called Caitlin Collins, quote, stupid and nasty.”

“On November 27th, he said, are you stupid? to CBS journalist Nancy Cordes.”

“On November 26th, he called The New York Times Katie Rogers, quote, ugly.”

“On November 18th, he called ABC’s Mary Bruce terrible and insubordinate.”

“November 14th, he told a Bloomberg reporter, quote, quiet piggy.”

“This is sick shit. This is sick.”

“And anyone in the room is in the room to do a job for their viewers or their readers. But they should go home tonight and think about whether their sisters or their daughters or their moms or their sons or their husbands or their fathers think that there’s something else they should do the next time he calls a female journalist obnoxious, terrible, stupid, nasty, stupid, ugly, terrible, insubordinate or piggy.”

“Because maybe if Donald Trump can’t live without being on TV and maybe if they said, you know what, we’re going to have some solidarity like they did with him wanting to change the names of oceans.”

“I mean, we’re either going to normalize this and then you’re going to hear all sorts of prominent people calling women all sorts of names. I’m sure by the time I get off TV, I’ll have a few of those myself.”

“But we’re either going to normalize this and usher in an era of unprecedented misogyny or that press corps is going to act as one and say no more.”

We all need to stand with women in the media.

It was about time. We owe thanks to Nicole and to you for amplifying her courageous stand. The horror of this is that Trump has pocketed millions from ABC and CBS in dubious settlements (certainly in the case of CBS/60 Minutes) and that has sent a chilling message from network higher-ups: Confront Trump and it might cost us millions or scuttle our next merger deal. #NoKings

Yes, a movement of fearless people needs to begin. It won’t be easy, but hopefully it will snowball once it has begun. Your voice matters, Sally. So glad you’ve spoken out!

HEAR HEAR! I have been so surprised at the lack of blow back from fellow journalists. Appalling. So terrified to feel his wrath, they won’t defend colleagues they’ve worked with before him, and will surely (god willing) work with AFTER him. I am SO SORRY your country is going through this. He’s a monster. It’s going to take several administrations to repair the damage and graft he’s encouraged and led. I read somewhere that corruption is so rampant in DC that it’s not even hidden anymore, it’s just right out in the open. I weep for the US I used to admire.

The fact that fellow journalists stand in silence is just unacceptable. The fear that Trump has instilled is incomprehensible. Kudos to Nicole Wallace for voicing what we are all horrified by. And of course it is not an isolated incident. His vile tongue is in a rampage.
Corruption at the highest level is no longer behind closed doors. Yet we are all so helpless. We are drowning, lost and completely broken.
      Thank you for your heart.

It’s sad that the American media is willing to “bend a knee” to Trump.

The media thinks if they do that, they think the bully that Trump is will leave them alone.

Bully’s like Trump never stop. American media has sold us out!
