Santa Held at The Border

A heads up to America’s kids.

Ol’ Santa might have some problems making his deliveries to the U.S. next Christmas if the Department of Homeland Security has its way.

North Pole resident Santa Claus and his undocumented elves better make sure they have DNA samples at the ready once they enter the U.S.A. from their foreign country. And be prepared to provide the phone numbers of all their immediate family members for the past five years so that U.S. Customs officials can check on them.

Better be careful, Santa, you might get caught red-handed on your social media posts.

If Santa has been naughty but not nice on his TikTok postings, fuggeddaboutit.

Like all tourists, he will have to give U.S. Officials access to all his social media activity for the past five years.

What did Santa post, what posts did he like, comment on, and re-post? Any of these can be grounds for a denial or even a permanent ban from the U.S.

Even his red suit might raise a red flag.

Agents are on the lookout for posts that can be construed as pro socialist or communist. Come to think about it, Santa spreading joy and free toys to everyone sure seems like a socialist policy to me.

New Rules

These new border screening rules from  U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, published last week, mean the Border Patrol will be checking their list and checking it twice. Doesn’t matter if you have a visa, or are from England, Germany, Somalia, or the North Pole.

This is the latest step in the Trump administration’s escalation of restrictions and surveillance of international travel and immigrants.  Even visitors who don’t need a visa and are otherwise authorized to travel will soon have to submit all of this detailed personal information, along with names, dates of birth, and place of birth

Apparently, Trump wants not only to keep out tourists, he also wants to discourage people even from Canada, from crossing the border to visit family.

The rules unveiled by the Department of Homeland Security last week are open for review for 60 days before they go into effect.

Ho Ho Ho

Proposing these new rules that further tighten the grip on who is allowed into the U.S. is no joke.

Next year may be a very lonely Christmas.
