Watching the simultaneous outpouring of tributes today for Aretha Franklin and John McCain becomes an inspirational amalgam of America’s Best and what is best about America. There are too, simultaneous tears and joy for what we had and what we have lost.
In cities thousands of miles apart our divisions seem to be dropped for the day to honor these two giant icons. Their paths to greatness were very different but their stories are uniquely American both motivated by the desire to give something to society and America.
Talk About RESPECT
Well-said, Sally.

Thank you. At a critical time in history when we are bereft of strong leaders, aching for heroes, these 2 Americans make us grateful for what we had and mournful of what is so desperately missing right now
