Yesterday all the living First Ladies gathered together to pay tribute to Rosalyn Carter at her funeral in Atlanta.
It wasn’t just that in a sea of black-cloaked mourners Melania’s singular tweed coat stood out.
In a room defined by kindness, humility, and compassion, Melania’s black heart stood alone.
It was a ceremony marked by grace, authenticity, modesty, commitment to service, and a remarkable love story.
All foreign to Melania.
In her graciousness Rosalynn Carter wanted Mrs. Trump to attend her funeral as a nod to her position as a former First Lady. Her invitation to join other first ladies yesterday was done out of the Carter’s ability to be both generous of heart, their Christian attitude of forgiveness and decency.

Rosalynn would likely have shrugged off Melania’s designer coat choice at her funeral. But it is unlikely she easily dismissed another garment from a few years back.
A low moment in First Lady behavior was Melania’s sporting “I Really Don’t Care. Do You?” jacket. In 2018 as she boarded a plane to head to Texas for a surprise visit to the heart of the family separation crisis at the southern border, Melania was spotted with the tactless coat with the ugly sentiment scrawled on the back. .
As modest as she was giving, Rosalynn Carter never needed any clothing to display her sentiments. “I Really Do Care” was her guiding principle, demonstrated by her humanitarian actions her entire life.
All she asked was for us to be as caring as she was.
The only thing connecting these two women is that each was married to a man who was President of the United States. And even there the divergence is stark.
While one husband responsibly lowered the temperature of the White House to conserve energy, another irresponsibly raised the temperature of the country’s stress level to the breaking point.

In vying to be the most beautiful woman in the room, Melania Trump’s vile spirit came across.
She is a singularly unattractive person
