In their Holy War battle cry of Fake News, Marjorie Taylor Greene is leading the charge of the False Reality Brigade with shrieks of “witch hunt” to save their anointed Savior Donald “Jesus” Trump from the evils of a satanic justice system.

While many Christians are quietly observing Palm Sunday today, many right-wing MAGAS are anxiously wringing their hands waiting for their new Jesus to be indicted.
With a Messiah complex, Trump is very dangerous. he is identifying himself with the second coming of christ when evil is defeated.
The MAGA Christian nationalists have already made the connection between Donald Trump’s surrender to New York authorities next Tuesday and Holy Week. Next Tuesday is Holy Tuesday, and the parallels will write themselves. The right-wing outrage has already taken on an apocalyptic tenor.
“Democrats want civil war. They want to push us into reacting so they can use their weaponized government to lock us all up. They know Trump did not break the law,” Ms. Greene claimed on Friday. Just as he did not lose the 2020 election.
Onward Christian Soldiers
It would probably be better for the Christian nationalists of the MAGA world if Trump surrendered next Friday, which is Good Friday, the day when believers observe Christ’s crucifixion.
Calling for mass demonstrations in N.Y.C. during Holy Week, Greene is gearing up to be by her persecuted leader’s side and protest the false charges being brought by the Democratic deep state.. Fulfilling her biblical role, Marge seems to have cast herself as Mary Magdalene, who washed Christ’s feet with her tears and later witnessed his crucifixion.
Does He Walk On Water?
A large number of white evangelicals believe that Trump is anointed by God to be president just as Jesus was anointed to be Savior.
Only in the alternative reality universe of Christian nationalists at the heart of the MAGA subculture, could Donald Trump — a porn-star-screwing, Putin-loving, psychopathic liar, and traitorous crook who is running for president again just to stay out of jail, grift more dollars, wreak more havoc, and seek further revenge against his enemies —become a Christ-like figure.
To them, he is a martyr straight out of the Bible.
Ironically today is also “International Fact-Checking Day,” a day to encourage people all over the world to combat misinformation or disinformation and proclaim the truth that is actually based on real facts.
Clearly, a day overlooked by legions of right-wing Republicans who stand with Donald Trump now more than ever. “This is not an indictment of a crime because President Trump never has committed any crime!” they claim. “This “indictment is a politically motivated crime!” a way for Democrats to suppress his influence as the 2024 presidential elections approach.

Without a shred of evidence, social media is filled with notions propagated by Republicans that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is connected to financier and philanthropist George Soros, a longtime target of anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.
“Unbelievable, it’s a witch hunt,” said Greene in a video she shared on Twitter on March 31. “Investigations, impeachment hoax #1, impeachment hoax #2, January 6 until we’re all sick of hearing about January 6, and now we have this garbage going on. Can you believe the mockery they’re making of America?”
Factually speaking Marge, the only mockery being made, is the mockery of facts and truth. Fact-checking is at the heart of good governance and democracy building.
So is accountability.

Envisioning The American Dream 
Sally, when I see a picture of Marjorie Taylor Greene or one of her strident peers in a picture under a bizarre headline, I just move on without reading it. She has earned that right to be ignored. When she has something rational and thoughtful to add, then I might read it. Just because she won a political race in a gerrymandered district, does not mean she should be considered with any gravitas or veritas.
To be frank, it would be political NOT to charge the former president with his actual and alleged crimes. No one can be above the law. This same theme will be used when he is charged for election tampering in Georgia, classified document mishandling, and most of all, seditious actions around the January 6 insurrection.
For those who have blindly followed the former president, they should be reminded Trump’s company was found guilty of tax fraud last summer and fined $1.6 million and in 2020 or so, Trump was found guilty of using his Foundation funds for personal use and made to repay, ironically, $1.6 million back to the Foundation before the Foundation was terminated and monies distributed. And, to rub salt in the wound, the judge said no one named Trump could participate on the distribution process of donor funds from the Foundation.
