The Republicans seem to be suffering from a case of arrested development.
Because House Speaker John Boehner and his gang of GOP groupies have been acting like petulant children with their bickering, and temper tantrums, most Americans would agree when it comes to job performance, Republicans deserve a failing grade.
Republicans Failing Report Card
Wondering how John Boehner’s behavior might fare on a primary school report card, I pulled out my first grade report card from 1961.
The result was not surprising; when it comes to good social habits and evidence of growth, he would get an unsatisfactory grade.
- Working and Playing Well With Others……Unsatisfactory
- Responding to Signals Properly……………….Unsatisfactory
- Respecting the Rights of Others……………..Unsatisfactory
- Finishing Work…………………………………………Unsatisfactory
- Ability to Express Himself………………………..Unsatisfactory
- Speaking Clearly……………………………………….Unsatisfactory
In those days, teachers made observations about a pupils behavior by writing their remarks on the report card themselves. One can imagine little Johnny’s Boehner’s report card might offer these illuminating comments:
“John has begun to play better with the other children and shows signs of becoming a real leader, but still has sulky periods and does not always exert his friendship in a helpful way.”
Simply put, John Boehner needs to learn how to get along with others.
A refresher course in developing good personality traits and sound mental health in order to learn to take part in group activities without demanding his own way so often, seems in order.
