It was never about the truth.
It was never about justice.
But it was all about Donald Trump’s agenda. And ego.
And that is the truth.
The truth is there must be accountability.
“No one can place a dagger on the throat of democracy.”
Joe Biden’s forceful speech was a dagger placed straight in Trump’s oversized ego.
Biden spoke to the nation on the first anniversary of the storming of the capitol. Powerfully, the President of the United States didn’t pussy foot around. He named the former pussy-grabbing president. He called him out, laying blame squarely where it should land.
On Donald Trump.
Today, in the name of democracy and truth, Joe Biden stormed Mar-a-Lago shattering Trump’s fragile ego into pieces. “He’s not just the former president he’s the defeated former President,” Biden firmly stated.
Defeated.
Like loser, the word is pure kryptonite to Donald Trump. The explosion in his head likely sent reverberations all through West Palm Beach.
It is time to name Trump’s dangerous rhetoric for what it is.
Clearly.
It is fascist with all the dangers that ideology implies.
No Means No
Know-nothing Trump never heard a “no” he couldn’t dismiss.
We should never have been surprised that Trump was trying to physically force himself on America after she loudly and clearly said No.
It’s how an abuser works.
Real men stalk women, never taking no for an answer, persistent even in the face of rejection. We had been abused for four years but he just wouldn’t leave. When our country said no, he still forced himself on us, twisting truths, and getting violent.
Like the abuser he is.
How unfit he is. How diminutive, and stunted. This parody of a former president, a grandiose pseudo billionaire totally and completely morally bankrupt.
How history will remember him- not for his unfair treatment by the media and the electors but for his inadequacies. His failures and lack of character on full display daily for all to see.
His impotence will live in infamy. So will his near destruction of our democracy.
He is the ultimate loser.
A year ago everything nearly crumbled. It held. But barely. We need to pay attention. Or we will all be losers.

So well said. And the Republican silence is deafening today. America had better pay attention. Let’s go Joe!

A year ago the Republicans told the truth about Donald Trump and January 6th. They spoke out.
They are silent now. They are complicit in their silence. Shame on them.

Carved above the main entrance of the Nebraska State Capitol: “The salvation of the state is watchfulness in the citizen.” America let its guard down and got the worst president ever, a pitiful little man, a grifter, a classless disaster of a human being. I look forward to the day he is taken away because he won’t go away on his own accord.

Even if Trump is miraculously disarmed and taken away, the cult of hate and doubt and divisiveness he has created won’t disappear soon, which means we have got to really pay attention. Jan 6 was just the first shot fired I fear.

That’s my fear, too. Living where I do, I know that mentality is to cling onto ideas till death but pass them on to the wee ones first. It seems a bit hopeless they will change, and the gun culture that goes with it is disturbing. Rittenhouse is a prime example of the mentality.

Dear Sally and Doug,
Hello! I have read this post and all of the comments here. Needless to say, due to misinformation and disinformation as well as the pandemic and other global issues, 2020 and 2021 as well as the past few years had been very difficult and trying, not to mention having to deal with the pandemic. It was all quite surreal, perhaps in some ways more bizarre than ghosts and the paranormal (not that I believe in such things). One could indeed say that we live in interesting times, but often for the wrong reasons. It is all quite a big mess in danger of getting bigger still. Even a global pandemic still cannot unite folks in the USA and wake them up. Perhaps it will take an even bigger crisis to do so, such as a series of climate change disasters.
Truth, decency and morality have become martyred under Trumpism. In any case, the best and most dedicated amongst the likes of us are also inveterate teachers of everlasting, transcendental wisdom to save humans from themselves, their self-interests and their destructive ways. I often even have to coin new words to do so. The latest examples are my three neologisms “Misquotation Pandemic“, “Disinformation Polemic” and “Viral Falsity“, as discussed in my extensive and analytical post entitled “💬 Misquotation Pandemic and Disinformation Polemic: 🧠 Mind Pollution by Viral Falsity 🦠“, which you can easily locate from the Home page of my blog.
I look forward to your visiting the post and reading your thoughts and feedback on the various issues broached there. By the way, whenever you visit my blog, I would like to recommend using a desktop or laptop computer with a large screen to view the rich multimedia contents available for heightening your multisensory enjoyment at my blog, which could be too powerful and feature-rich for iPad, iPhone, tablet or other portable devices to handle properly or adequately.
Furthermore, since my intricate blog contains advanced styling and multimedia components plus animations, it is advisable to avoid viewing the contents of my blog using the WordPress Reader, which cannot show many of the advanced features and animations in my posts and pages. It is best to read the posts and pages directly in my blog so that you will be able to savour and relish all of the refined and glorious details.
It’s time for a ditty from me regarding Trump, who is after all not so much a “Law and Order” ex-President as a “Flaw and Border” autocrat and plutocrat:
Will Trump get his wall
Or will he get us all
Yours sincerely,

I noticed that if you click on “visit” on the Reader, posts come up with all the bells and whistles. If you click anywhere else, they come up in an abbreviated form that leaves out all the special qualities and shows just the minimum of content.

Sally, I just wrote this on another blog, so please forgive the repeat.
When we hear push back from the Trump base and sycophants, we need to point out this is not a witch hunt. We can never let this happen again. Full stop. But, what is lost on too many, the failures of the former president occurred long before the insurrection. It began with his staged election fraud spiel that he set in motion by hiring over 1,000 attorneys and belittling the mail in process for months. What is also lost is how can a person with 1,000 attorneys and all the financial resources be so unsuccessful in proving his election fraud claims – winning only one court case out of over 65 and still losing every recount, review and audit of results. His failure was so profound, funders asked for their money back as they felt misled. Truly, it would be hard for him to lose any more than he has. Mr. Trump, you lost – be a man and get over it. I encourage people to look up these stories and not take my word for it.

Trump fits the definition of a malignant narcissism to a tee- as a syndrome characterized by a narcissistic personality disorder (NPD), antisocial features, paranoid traits, and egosyntonic aggression. Other symptoms may include an absence of conscience, a psychological need for power, and a sense of importance (grandiosity).

Sally, so very true. Trump admitted later the story he told Bob Woodward on February 7, 2020 that he knew of the dangers of COVID was true. That date is important as he held several pep rallies later that month where he naysayed COVID and called it a Democrat hoax. He put his most loyal followers in danger (and did so again later in the year) without telling them they were in danger, just so he could hear their applause. There is a description for that similar to what you typed up above – it is called sociopathic behavior. We cannot forget the Tulsa gathering where six members of his staff had COVID (and it is alleged Herman Cain was infected and died of COVID) or the party in the White House to celebrate something in September where people got sick, including maybe himself. I doubt we’ve ever had a president with the level of pathology that Trump has, one that has had lethal consequences.

Do you remember” the left-wing activists who invaded the Capitol during then-Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court confirmation hearing “being rounded up as a group and being arrested and sent to the D.C. jail system, where they sat day after day before they could actually have a trial? Because I don’t remember that,” says Fox News host Mark Levin.

Thanks for the “historically accurate” Fox-approved quote.

Don’t make it about where you and I get our news. I was watching videoclips in 2020 of other people’s property being trashed and other people’s goods stolen, cars burned and people threatened. CNN presented it as “mostly peaceful” “protests”. CNN is becoming less relevant and knows it; people are getting their news elsewhere. And people who aren’t rusted on left or right, will listen to and read all sides of an issue before deciding what to think. Those people have stopped allowing others to tell them what to think.
